Talking to a winemaker's cellar, I learned some techniques that Endrizzi used to combat the problem of pests in vineyards. One of these is the use of insectivorous birds: the vineyards were established ca. 25 nests per hectare, which are cleaned annually to encourage the installation of these "natural helpers". The birds feeding on insects that otherwise would like to thank would create only prolbemi. This method allows to reduce drastically the use of chemicals and thus maintain a healthy environment.
Another method used for ecological control of insects is that of "sexual confusion" . This is a technique used throughout the Trentino to combat the spread of moth (insect very dangerous for the screw).
