In one of my first post I talked about how the wine cellar is divided into historical and new cellar. The cellar history is certainly fascinating, but I was curious about the new one more to the structure and architecture. So, I asked how it is born and how it was designed this high-tech cellar.
Its history was created in 1999 , when it was decided it was time to support another winery that already exist. We evaluate two different projects, but these had the same defect: they foresee a winery outside of 2700 m2 and 10 m high, a very significant impact on the landscape. Taking into account ancient and historical buildings already exist, none of the two projects could be implemented.
the solution lies with a third project, by architect Roberto Ferrari in collaboration with the architect Christine Endrici, which evaluated the option of building the new underground cellar . In this way we would solve the problem of the landscape, but would have also been benefits from a technical point of view: less temperature fluctuations, to better preserve the wine and grape production in the fall, in order to preserve integrity and character.
